About the role

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Emergency Department team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full‑time night‑shift position. The Pediatric ED provides specialized emergency care for infants, children, and adolescents in a fast‑paced, family‑centered environment. Location: Baptist Jacksonville (Downtown), 800 Prudential Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to pediatric patients
• Administer medications per policy
• Educate families on diagnosis and treatment plans
• Collaborate with pediatric specialists and care teams
• Coordinate care with ancillary services
• Serve as a patient and family advocate
• Provide for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel
• Include patients and families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Educate patients/families about disease process and plan of care
• Serve as patient advocate and provide care for patients with medical, surgical, or other conditions, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses

Requirements

• 3–5 years of clinical experience (required)
• 1 year of emergency nursing experience (required)

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required)
• TNCC, NRP, ENPC (required)
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for Free Standing EDs and within 6 months for Wolfson Children’s Hospital ED
