Pay

$31.53 - $50.40 per hour

Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates

Up to $10,000 Relocation Bonus for eligible candidates

Schedule

Responsibilities

• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs
• Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) technique to improve patient outcomes
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s of Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor’s of Nursing (Preferred)
• Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) (Preferred)
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) (Preferred)
• Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills (Required)
• Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding (Required)
• Previous EKG Interpretation Class (Preferred)

Skills

• Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response (Preferred)
• Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties (Preferred)
• Ability to function calmly and professionally during stressful situations (Preferred)
• Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical-thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes (Preferred)
• General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, as well as the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications (Preferred)
• Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to foster an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility (Preferred)
• Skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner that encourages the open exchange of ideas and information (Preferred)
