About the Role
The registered nurse (RN) provides patient-centered, culturally and age-specific care by applying knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. They adhere to ethical standards and scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conducts holistic evaluations of patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs, recognizing abnormal data and communicating changes.
- Identifies patient problems, develops individualized care plans with measurable goals, and collaborates with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Delivers evidence-based care, delegates tasks appropriately, provides patient education, and responds to emergencies while maintaining safety protocols.
- Continuously assesses care effectiveness, adjusts plans based on patient responses, and ensures continuity during handoffs.
- Accurately records all care activities, updates, and patient responses in electronic medical records timely and concisely.
- Demonstrates leadership by mentoring peers, participating in quality initiatives, and engaging in ongoing education, certifications, and research activities.
Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license.
- BLS certification (ACLS within 6 months for ICU/step-down units).
- Ability to provide culturally competent care.
- BSN required within five years of hire for those employed after January 2010.
