About the role
We're seeking a dedicated professional to provide exceptional care in our Same Day Surgery/PreOp unit, floating between PACU and Same Day Surgery (Phase I and Phase II areas).
Schedule
- 4 × 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Occasional on-call shift
- Variable start times (latest at 11:00 AM)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Certifications Required:
- CA RN License
- ACLS
- BLS
Responsibilities
- Manage nursing care from admission to discharge, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and personal hygiene of patients while performing disease prevention and restorative measures.
- Respond to medical and environmental emergencies.
- Provide patient care in accordance with policies, scientific principles, and standards of care.
- Plan and coordinate care delivery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff for collaborative patient care.
- Coordinate involvement of patient, physician, family, and health team members to achieve optimal patient care.
- Set priorities and direct emergency interventions efficiently and competently.
Assessment
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families.
- Ensure nursing process is individualized to meet patient needs, including assessment, care plans, education, and discharge planning.
- Monitor patients at risk and implement precautions to reduce risks.
Planning
- Develop and implement the patient's care plan based on interviews, observations, and consultations.
- Document and communicate patient assessment, care plans, and outcomes.
- Evaluate and modify the care plan in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplines.
