Registered Nurse – PACU

This role is for a Part-Time Registered Nurse in the SMC PACU Surgical Services, responsible for coordinating nursing care, providing direct patient care, and educating patients and families. The RN supports professional practice across settings, adhering to the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model and ANA standards. Key duties include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care, as well as demonstrating leadership through preceptorship, committee participation, and quality improvement activities. The nurse delegates tasks based on skill level, patient acuity, and resource availability, utilizing excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills. Some roles may require driving personal vehicles. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, at least one year of RN experience, and a current RN license. Recent ICU/PCU or Monitoring/Sedation experience is preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours are essential.
