Role Overview
This position involves assessing, planning, delegating, and evaluating nursing care for a diverse patient group, serving as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs and safety considerations.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management
- Safely administer medications following policies
- Manage resources efficiently
- Ensure compliance with practice standards and regulations
- Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model
- Contribute to improvement initiatives
- Support peer review
- Foster a professional development environment for colleagues and students
- Integrate current research into practice
- Perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator roles when assigned
- Maintain mandatory education requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Current New York State RN license
- Preferred: BSN
- Preferred: Clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care
- Preferred: CCRN certification
- Preferred: Relevant certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC
- Essential skills in pharmacology, communication, teamwork, and adaptability
Work Environment & Patient Care
Work occurs in clinical and office settings, requiring movement, standing, and lifting in a fast-paced environment with exposure to cleaning agents and PPE adherence. Serves patients of all ages and maintains HIPAA access levels as appropriate.
