Registered Nurse - PACU

About the Role

Provide specialized nursing care in a fast-paced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment, supporting patients through perioperative recovery. Conduct preoperative evaluations and patient education as part of the Pre-Anesthesia Screening Services (PASS). Collaborate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care during post-anesthesia recovery.
• Assess, monitor, and intervene promptly for patients across various surgical specialties and trauma cases.
• Facilitate communication among the care team and patients' families.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative work culture.
• Adhere to licensure, certification, and safety standards to ensure compliance and optimal care outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
• 1–3 years of RN experience in PACU, ICU, or ED.
• Current Maryland RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
• Strong assessment, intervention, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively within a team in a dynamic setting.
