Responsibilities
- Works in admitting, recovery, and procedural room areas.
- Adheres to established Nursing Standards of Practice, including Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
- Administers medication/IV solutions according to Norwalk Hospital policy/procedures and consults appropriate resources as needed.
- Affirms learning needs of patients and families/significant others, plans, and provides appropriate instruction.
- Assesses and documents the effectiveness of teaching.
- Participates in unit-based activities and Nursing/Hospital Committees.
- Attends staff development and continuing education programs, as well as JCAHO and OSHA programs annually.
- Maintains and updates educational record.
- Fosters a positive working environment through personal example and teamwork.
- Assists in patient care and delegates responsibilities to other team members to create a therapeutic environment.
- Assumes the role of charge RN and demonstrates independent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Shows good organizational and prioritization skills, assisting in the orientation and teaching of nursing personnel.
Requirements
Must have a current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in nursing required.
Skills
Experience in a GI procedure room preferred.
