Registered Nurse Outpatient Oncology Infusion

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion is a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for delivering specialized infusion and vascular access care. This role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients receiving infusion therapies.

Current clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no on-call requirements. PRN shifts are available as needed. Clinic hours are expected to transition to 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. within the next few months.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients receiving infusion therapies.
• Develop individualized plans of care using advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Deliver patient education and manage symptoms throughout the infusion journey.
• Coordinate treatment plans and prioritize care with providers, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary partners.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adapt care plans as needs evolve.

Minimum qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of their hire date.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Oncology, infusion, or chemotherapy experience.

Physical requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent verbal communication and hearing of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation and medication preparation.
• Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
• Ability to walk, assist with transporting/ambulating patients, and obtain/distribute supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.
• May be required to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $35.22 – $53.29. Actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 30. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no on-call requirements. PRN shifts are available as needed. Clinic hours are expected to transition to 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. within the next few months.
