About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at St. Mary's Medical Center is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients. They utilize the nursing process, technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs.
  • Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind.
  • Communicate compassionately and effectively.
  • Aid in developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines.
  • Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs.
  • Participate in clinical team conferences.
  • Follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Completion of a BSN degree within four years from the Registered Nurse’s date of hire, except for those with 15+ years of continuous RN experience in an acute care setting.
  • Must have current certifications as per the unit or service requirements.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment.
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Walking and assisting with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications
