About the role

Mississippi Urology Clinic, PLLC – Jackson, MS has an immediate opening for a full-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team!

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with doctors, other registered nurses and clinical staff about patient needs.
  • Administer IVs and medications to aid patients’ health.
  • Use medical equipment to monitor patients’ vital signs in the clinical setting.
  • Handle patient phone calls / needs for nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Observe and record patient behavior.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Collect patient health history.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.
  • Administer medication, change wound dressings and assist with other treatment needs.
  • Catheter placement / removal, injections, staple removals, etc.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients.
  • Direct and supervise nurses, nurse assistants and nurse aides.
  • Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved registered nursing program with a current valid RN license in the state of practice; or completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program from vocational or other technical school with a current valid LPN license in the state of practice.
  • A current CPR Certification.
  • A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current valid LPN license in the state of practice.
