Registered Nurse- OR- Day Shift

About the role
Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to the health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.
As an Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) at Holy Cross Hospital—an innovator in minimally invasive and robotic surgery (da Vinci® system)—you will deliver expert perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver patient care in the operating room
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations
- Perform scrub functions: select and handle instruments and supplies during procedures
- Perform circulating functions: monitor, record, and communicate patient condition
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation
- Educate patients and family
- Plan continuum of care
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN/MSN to be obtained within a specified time frame)
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating)

Pay
$41.70 – $55.68 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary by location.
Schedule
0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly). Flexible schedules available.
