Registered Nurse- OR- Day Shift

About the Role
Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to the health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.
As an Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) at Holy Cross Hospital, you will demonstrate expertise in performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients in the operating room setting undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Holy Cross Hospital was the first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci® surgical system.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver patient care in the operating room
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations
- Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures
- Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communication of patient condition
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation
- Educate patients and family
- Plan continuum of care
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific time frame)
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating)
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN preferred
Pay
Pay Range: $41.70 – $55.68 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
