About the role

The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for circulating in various surgical specialties including ENT, Orthopedics (including total joints), Plastic Surgery, Pain Management, and Podiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, and planning)
  • Supervision received: Supervisor of Clinical Services
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • One year experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Operating room experience
  • Assesses physiological and psychosocial health status of patients
  • Versatile reporting of pertinent information to staff
  • Legibly documents information in patient records
  • Awareness of patient's understanding and expectations of care
  • Establishes nursing diagnoses and patient/family goals
  • Formulates and implements nursing care plans tailored to patient needs
  • Responds to emergencies
  • Practices within legal and ethical guidelines
  • Communicates and reports appropriately before, during, and after surgical cases
  • Counts surgical cases accurately
  • Adheres to aseptic techniques
  • Ensures efficient patient turnover
  • Obtains and documents blood products correctly
  • Verifies patient identification according to policy
  • Identifies and marks surgical sites according to policy
  • Participates in the surgeon's needs during surgical procedures
  • Participates in a professional nursing organization

Pay

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts.
