Registered Nurse - Operating Room - F/T Evenings

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices according to the most up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and excellent individualized patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status, care, and treatment plans.
• Administer medication using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure the safest delivery of medications.
• Perform ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions, and evaluations.
• Provide patient and family-centered education to optimize health, wellness, and disease management.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary discharge of patients to ensure safe transitions and continuum of care.
• Scrub and circulate on a variety of surgical cases in a busy OR department, demonstrating motivation and independence.

Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program (OR nursing experience preferred).
• CVOR experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Must be a self-starter who works well independently, with strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to multi-task, learn quickly, and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Strong sense of accountability for improving patient and caregiver lives, with an exceptional focus on teamwork and dedication to ongoing education.
• Passion for delivering the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus.

Pay

Minimum starting rate of $45.14 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the base pay at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Full-time and part-time positions (20+ hours/week) may be eligible for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate.
