Registered Nurse - Operating Room

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a role in the Operating Room, providing a full spectrum of surgical services including ENT, General, Gynecology, Neurology, Ophthalmic, Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry, Robotics, Trauma, and Urology surgeries. The position offers a standard 40-hour workweek with minimal call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with physician orders.
• Developing individualized care plans, utilizing evidence-based practices, and adjusting care based on patient needs.
• Managing patient assignments, delegating tasks appropriately, and ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Providing education to patients and families, supporting informed decision-making, and facilitating discharge planning.
• Participating in performance improvement initiatives, professional development, and departmental committees.
• Supporting the orientation and growth of new staff members.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure and current BLS certification.
• At least one year of Operating Room experience with circulating and scrubbing skills.
• Department-specific certifications may be required; a BSN is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical judgment.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and support patients, along with visual and manual dexterity.
