Registered Nurse - Operating Room

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Operating Room to provide professional and nonprofessional nursing care, assess and develop patient care plans, and ensure safe, evidence-based clinical practices. The role involves direct patient care, delegating tasks, educating patients and families, and supporting staff development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Evaluate and update care plans as needed.
• Manage patient assignments and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Support discharge planning.
• Participate in performance improvement and professional development initiatives.
• Support team members and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience with circulating and scrubbing skills.
• Knowledge of nursing processes, effective communication, and clinical judgment.
• Ability to lift and turn patients, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.
• Exposure to infectious agents and blood-borne pathogens.

Qualifications

• Certifications relevant to the department are preferred.
• A BSN is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge essential for safe, effective care.
