Role Overview
This position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse responsible for evaluating patients pre-surgery, providing education, preparing patients, participating in surgical site verification, recognizing emergencies, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, applies evidence-based practices, and monitors patient conditions throughout shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and prepare patients for surgery
- Educate patients and families about procedures
- Ensure surgical site verification and adhere to protocols
- Respond to patient emergencies and document care
- Participate in surgical team activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- Current RN licensure in Colorado or active multi-state license
- Minimum one year perioperative (OR) experience
- Certification in BLS; ACLS and PALS within six months
- Preferred: CNOR certification, BSN degree
