Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit
• Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Carefully coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC-Brighton's nursing organization
• Aid the leadership team in quality improvement projects

Requirements

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred)
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• CNOR certification (preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification (Preferred)
• Experience:
• 2 years' registered Nurse experience required
• 1 year of operating room experience required (2 years preferred)

Education

• Must be experienced in a circulating role

Knowledge & Skills

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus
