Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit
- Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Carefully coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC-Brighton's nursing organization
- Aid the leadership team in quality improvement projects
Requirements
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred)
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- CNOR certification (preferred)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification (Preferred)
- Experience:
- 2 years' registered Nurse experience required
- 1 year of operating room experience required (2 years preferred)
Education
- Must be experienced in a circulating role
Knowledge & Skills
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language a plus
