About the Role
This is a full-time night-shift leadership position within the Oncology department at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Schedule
3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate staffing and provide leadership to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assign, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff; contribute to staff evaluations.
- Assess patient care needs; develop and distribute care assignments to ensure appropriate care.
- Evaluate care effectiveness and address issues impacting patient outcomes.
- Respond to patient care complaints and manage through established channels.
- Assist with hiring, training, development, and staff evaluations.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification within 1 month of hire; ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months in certain units.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
