About the Role
Responsible for coordinating staffing and providing leadership on an oncology unit specializing in cancer patient care and medical-surgical services.
Responsibilities
- Assigns, directs, educates, and monitors nursing and support staff during shifts.
- Contributes to performance evaluations.
- Assesses patient care needs, develops care assignments, and ensures appropriate, quality patient care.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of care and addresses issues impacting patient outcomes.
- Responds to care-related complaints.
- May assist in hiring, training, and staff development.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in Alabama.
- BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- ACLS and PALS certifications may be required within 6 months for specific units.
