Registered Nurse - Oncology

About the role

Our practice in New Jersey is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse, Lead. This position is based in Rutherford with occasional travel to nearby locations for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Chemotherapy administration
• Symptom management
• Operating emergency equipment
• Administering injections
• Verifying completed consents for medications in EMR
• Performing other direct patient care responsibilities

Lead Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling of direct staff
• Enter applications in MS Calendar
• Manage timecard and time off requests in Workday
• Calculate and enter daily acuity into appropriate data sheets, folders, or applications
• Understand laboratory policies, processes, and troubleshoot
• Communicate direct staff issues to Department head
• Support and develop clinical staff
• Mentor, coach, counsel, and implement developmental or performance improvement plans, as appropriate, in consultation with department head

Requirements

• Current RN License
• CPR Certification
• Experience as an RN with specialty in oncology/hematology
• Managerial experience
• Chemotherapy Certification required
• OCN preferred
• Knowledge of EMR systems (preferably OncoEMR)
• Travel between office sites when needed
