Join our Clinical Decision Area team at Garnet Health Medical Center Middletown as a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities

• Report errors via the MIDAS RDE system and participate in Root Cause Analysis.
• Complete annual and required mandatory training within specified time frames.

Requirements

• Active New York State Nursing License in good standing.
• Baccalaureate (preferred), Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification Preferred (*Based on Certification specialty hours of work requirement).
• BLS certification (must be kept current).
• ACLS at hire or transfer; PCU Essential within 6 months of hire/transfer (for applicable areas).
• 1 year of Medical-Surgical or Telemetry experience (preferred).
• New graduates with a BSN will be considered.
• Cardiac Telemetry, Phlebotomy, and EKG training (recommended).

Physical Demands

• Considerable standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
• Considerable visual demands.
• Must be able to perform RN essential physical functioning demands as determined by Employee Health/Pre-Screening Assessment.
• During patient transferring tasks, if any caregiver is required to lift more than 35 lbs of a patient's weight, the patient should be considered fully dependent and assistive devices should be used.
• Ergonomic stressors include moderate to frequent heavy lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.
• Must participate in Safe Patient Handling initiatives.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, respirators, coveralls, vests, lead vests, full body suits).
• May have contact with chemical, radiological, physical, electrical, mechanical, or other workplace hazards.

Working Conditions

• ORMC abides by the New York Department of Labor/Nursing Licensure Board recommendation on the 16-hour work limit.
• Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
• May be exposed to unpleasant patient elements (e.g., exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material).
• Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including emergency and crisis situations.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $56.58 - $62.48 hourly. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining compensation, several factors may be considered, such as location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
