Registered Nurse - Nights
Employment Type: Full time, 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
About the Role
The Registered Nurse – Med/Surg works in a collaborative environment at Nazareth Hospital to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. This role offers the opportunity to work in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adults).
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop, evaluate, and modify care plans.
- Interpret and perform complex patient-care procedures specific to expertise.
- Collaborate as a member of the Care Team and Support Team to achieve patient outcomes.
- Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process and established standards.
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based care to patients of all age groups.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or Compact State required.
- Prior relevant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Certifications aligned with area of responsibility; minimum of BLS required.
