About the role

As a vital member of our care team, this full or part-time Registered Nurse position involves providing direct patient care, including Emergency Room (ER) and Obstetrics (OB) with onsite training. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the overall well-being of our patients. This role may include potential supervisor responsibilities such as Charge Nurse duties.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including the Code of Conduct and all organization-wide policies.
  • Participate in compliance education and training programs as required.
  • Provide direct patient care in ER and OB settings.
  • Assist physicians with rounds and procedures.
  • Perform concise charting of patient medications, treatments, procedures, activities, and patient teaching.
  • Administer medications and treatments competently.
  • Contribute to nursing care plans and daily worksheets.
  • Initiate and follow through on patient teaching, documenting progress on flow sheets and teaching sheets.
  • Communicate patient and family needs to the charge nurse, physicians, and staff to ensure consistent quality care.
  • Seek assistance when needed and collaborate with team members to meet patient needs.
  • Provide direct patient care during ambulance transport services.
  • Pursue continuing education and stay current with new techniques and specialized areas.
  • Maintain current licensure, BLS certification, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe environment, using appropriate barrier protection during exposure to blood or body fluids.
  • Implement safe work practices to reduce the risk of occupational exposure.

Requirements

  • Valid Nebraska nursing license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work every third weekend and participate in a holiday rotation.
