About the role
Utilizes the principles of the nursing process to provide for continuity and quality of nursing care to the neonate and family unit.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the neonate that is consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to neonates and families within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Assesses patients’ physical, psychological, social, developmental, and spiritual needs.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans based on assessment data.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of care and makes appropriate modifications.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Documents patient care activities accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of NICU Experience.
- Current license issued by New York State to practice as a registered nurse.
- NRP certification required.
Qualifications
- Requires two (2) years of college education.
- General knowledge of a specialized or technical field normally associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree.
