About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. They utilize the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and coordinate care with other health team members.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate.
  • Seek and evaluate information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and others.
  • Collaboratively develop and implement individualized plans of care, involving patient, family, team, and physician input, and prepare patients for further support needs once current care outcomes are met.
  • Direct interdisciplinary care teams through delegation, coordination, and collaboration, ensuring care is provided consistently with the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revising plans of care as necessary and reassessing changes as appropriate.
  • Promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others.
  • Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, comply with regulatory standards, practice within the scope of licensure, provide accurate and timely documentation, and understand the legal implications of care delivery.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or willingness to obtain within four years of hire date.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of RN work experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a Level II NICU.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

24 hours per week, with two part-time positions available: one day shift and one night shift.

Location

Intermountain Health LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.
