Registered Nurse NICU

About the role

HCA Houston Healthcare West is a full-service, 300+ bed hospital that has been offering exceptional care to the West Houston communities for over 30 years. We are seeking a Registered Nurse RN NICU to join our healthcare family.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the efficient management of patients including but not limited to assessments and care planning
• Demonstrate and maintains competencies in all aspects of newborn care and able to delegate appropriately
• Demonstrate knowledge and properly documents in a timely manner all patient assessment, vital signs, critical results, care planning, and education
• Organize and maintains proper equipment and supplies needed for newborn care
• Maintain effective communication with leadership, physicians, co-workers, patients and visitors to promote patient safety and satisfaction
• Ensure implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights for the newborn and parents
• Demonstrate knowledge of & practices the ICARE philosophy daily by interacting in a positive manner with all patients, visitors and colleagues
• Demonstrate knowledge and maintains all quality initiatives which include but are not limited to Core Measures, Risk Reduction Initiatives and Patient Satisfaction
• Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining proper dress code, telephone etiquette, and projecting positive image and attitude

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• 1 year applicable experience
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 60 days
• Stable certification within 6 months

Qualifications
