About the role
HCA Houston Healthcare West is a full-service, 300+ bed hospital that has been offering exceptional care to the West Houston communities for over 30 years. We are seeking a Registered Nurse RN NICU to join our healthcare family.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the efficient management of patients including but not limited to assessments and care planning
- Demonstrate and maintains competencies in all aspects of newborn care and able to delegate appropriately
- Demonstrate knowledge and properly documents in a timely manner all patient assessment, vital signs, critical results, care planning, and education
- Organize and maintains proper equipment and supplies needed for newborn care
- Maintain effective communication with leadership, physicians, co-workers, patients and visitors to promote patient safety and satisfaction
- Ensure implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights for the newborn and parents
- Demonstrate knowledge of & practices the ICARE philosophy daily by interacting in a positive manner with all patients, visitors and colleagues
- Demonstrate knowledge and maintains all quality initiatives which include but are not limited to Core Measures, Risk Reduction Initiatives and Patient Satisfaction
- Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining proper dress code, telephone etiquette, and projecting positive image and attitude
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- 1 year applicable experience
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 60 days
- Stable certification within 6 months
Qualifications
