Registered Nurse - Nampa Emergency Department
About the Role
Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking Registered Nurses to support two Emergency Departments in Nampa, Idaho. These positions are eligible for consideration of a sign-on bonus plus generous relocation assistance. Competitive wages, on-call pay, and shift differentials are offered depending on work schedules.
The Day to Day
Nurses enjoy autonomy in fast-paced roles and work closely with physicians in the treatment of patients. Common cases include fractures, fevers, allergic reactions, COPD, respiratory illnesses, and traumas appropriate for a Level VI Trauma Center (traumas requiring higher level care are routed to the Boise hospital). Teamwork is at the core of how the department functions.
- Primary need is for full-time, night shift nurses working 7pm to 7am
- Well-qualified candidates may be considered for part-time and/or day shift opportunities if available
- Colleagues self-schedule hours in advance and are expected to work 2 weekends per month
- Colleagues have the unique opportunity to float between the Medical Center (off Garrity exit) and the freestanding Emergency Department on 12th Avenue
The Locations
Nampa Garrity ED: State-of-the-art facility opened in June 2017, located off I-84, classified as a Level VI Trauma Center. Has 30 beds and sees an average of 80 patients per day, serving a wide variety of patients in Canyon County.
Nampa 12th Avenue ED: Freestanding facility equipped with 16 beds, serving a wide variety of patient needs. Sees an average of 35 patients per day, including respiratory ailments, fractures, and allergic reactions. Provides care through phenomenal teamwork and commitment.
Colleagues have the opportunity to float between locations, allowing for cross-training and increasing knowledge.
Requirements
- Current Idaho RN license required; multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire
- All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date
- At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
- BLS/HCP certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
- Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
Qualifications
- Prefer one or more years of RN experience in an emergency setting
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with taking care of critical patients preferred
- Ability to utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to prioritize patient needs
- Desire to take care of all types of patients and be part of a team
