Registered Nurse - Nampa Emergency Department

About the Role

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking Registered Nurses to support two Emergency Departments in Nampa, Idaho. These positions are eligible for consideration of a sign-on bonus plus generous relocation assistance. Competitive wages, on-call pay, and shift differentials are offered depending on work schedules.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Exercise autonomy in a fast-paced role while working closely with physicians in patient treatment
• Handle common cases including fractures, fevers, allergic reactions, COPD, respiratory illnesses, and traumas appropriate for a Level VI Trauma Center (traumas requiring higher-level care are routed to the Boise hospital)
• Collaborate as part of a core-functioning team
• Self-schedule hours in advance and work 2 weekends per month
• Float between the Medical Center located off the Garrity exit and the freestanding Emergency Department on 12th Avenue

Schedule

• Primary need: full-time, night shift, 7pm to 7am
• Well-qualified candidates may be considered for part-time and/or day shift opportunities if available

Locations

Nampa Garrity ED: State-of-the-art facility opened in June 2017, classified as a Level VI Trauma Center. Features 30 beds, averaging 80 patients per day, serving a wide variety of patients in Canyon County.

Nampa 12th Avenue ED: Freestanding facility equipped with 16 beds, averaging 35 patients per day, treating respiratory ailments, fractures, and allergic reactions.

Requirements

• Current Idaho RN license required (multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire)
• Provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required at hire (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
• BLS/HCP certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
• Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of RN experience in an emergency setting
• ACLS certification obtained
• Experience caring for critical patients
• Ability to utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to prioritize patient needs
• Desire to care for all types of patients and be part of a team
