Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Role Overview

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in an observation unit, performing assessments, cardiac and neurological monitoring, and timely interventions to detect patient changes early.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate diagnostic testing and treatment
• Educates patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions to ensure continuity and prevent readmissions

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid RN license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program
• Preferred: at least 6 months of acute care experience
• Preferred: willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale Certification
