Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

About the Role

This role involves providing direct nursing care on a 19-bed Medical/Surgical unit, caring for patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes, as well as performing surgical procedures like EGDs and cholecystectomies.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient status.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and serve as a primary point of contact for patient needs.
• Follow physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Licensed or eligible as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross obtained within 1 month of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and professional licensure at hire.
