Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical 4CD position is located at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. This role is full-time with benefits eligibility and works 36 hours per week, rotating every 3rd weekend with 50% holidays.
Responsibilities
- Care for a diverse population with multiple acute and chronic illnesses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, diabetes, wounds, cellulitis, stroke, pneumonia, and minor surgical patients (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, etc.)
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Qualifications
This position requires a strong foundation in nursing knowledge and skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment. Previous experience in a medical/telemetry unit is preferred but not required.
Skills
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHRs) is also required.

Pay
$38.20 - $57.30 per hour based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
Schedule
Hours: 7pm-7:30am Every 3rd weekend, 50% holidays.
