About the Role
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care during hospital stays, assessing patients, developing and evaluating individualized care plans, and coordinating with healthcare team members.
Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough assessments, documents findings, and reassesses patient status.
- Develops evidence-based care plans aligned with diagnoses, lab data, and physician orders.
- Implements and documents nursing interventions, administers medications, monitors IV fluids, and coordinates referrals.
- Communicates patient needs effectively, provides patient and family education, and ensures discharge planning.
- Recognizes changes in patient condition, responds appropriately, and involves families in decision-making.
- Provides specialized high-risk care, manages restraints and pain, and identifies signs of abuse.
- Demonstrates accountability by adhering to quality standards, maintaining current knowledge, and supporting professional development.
- Collaborates with team members, mentors new staff, and promotes a positive, respectful work environment.
- Ensures safety and infection control compliance, practicing standard precautions and reporting risks.
- Delivers courteous, respectful care, maintains confidentiality, and advocates for patient needs.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
- Provides age-appropriate care, manages resources efficiently, and supports hospital values.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in applicable states.
- BLS certification.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Physical ability for patient care tasks.
- Commitment to safety, infection control, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts and adapt to changing demands.
