Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical (2nd Medical)
Schedule: 3 x 12 hr. shifts per week on the Night Shift (7p - 7a) + rotating weekends. $20,000 sign-on bonus opportunity.

Our General Medical Surgical Unit is an 18-bed unit caring for a wide variety of adult medical patients, with occasional surgical patients as census and care needs require. Responsibilities
- Completes initial and ongoing assessments, including physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care abilities, educational, age-appropriate, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Supervises others and assists with orientation and training of others as directed.
Requirements
- Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- 1-3 years of recent acute care experience within the past 3 years preferred.
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Handle with care certification within 4 months after hire date.
