About the role
A Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Delivers nursing care according to the standards of care defined within the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
- Promotes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
- Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related information.
- Maintains orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Communicates with co-workers on a timely basis including end of shift updates.
- Makes clinical decisions and sets priorities related to workload management based on clinical knowledge and individual patient needs.
- Notifies physician/surgeon of changes in patient’s condition in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Supports and assists with direct patient care to meet the workload needs of the unit through an initiative-taking team approach.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
- Ability to pass specific competencies for this position.
- Proficient oral and written communication.
- One year general hospital experience helpful.
Qualifications
- Hold and maintain RN Illinois Licensure.
- CPR certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

- Demonstrates knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and procedures.
- Utilizes the nursing process in provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers, and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
- Possession of a genuine interest and concern for patient population that is served.

Pay
$41.25 - $46.25 per hour.
