Registered Nurse, Med Surg/Oncology, Full Time, Night
About the role
To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing).
- Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certification and unit based orientation.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in a similar role or related field is required.
- Computer and keyboard skills.
- Medical terminology required.
Skills
- Physical requirements: full range of body motion including physically assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling.
- Classified as Very Heavy Work (exerting >100 lbs occasionally, >50 lbs frequently, >20 lbs constantly).
- Adheres to NIOSH guideline limiting average lift to 51 lbs without assistance.
- Manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
- Constant talking and listening in English.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; speech clarity; understanding information; deductive and inductive reasoning.
- Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing and photocopying.
- Ability to perform work accurately, pay attention to details, and switch tasks without loss of efficiency.
- Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to patients with acute, chronic, complex and/or terminal disease processes.
- Ability to work cooperatively within health system and multidisciplinary team members (MDs, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory, etc.).
- Ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities, problem solve and deliver care.
