Registered Nurse Med Surg Medical 1 (4 West) Full Time-Nights

About the role

Newport News, Virginia is seeking Full Time Night RNs with 2 years of experience who may be eligible for a $7,000 bonus, and NEW GRAD RNs who are eligible for a $6,000 bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population.
• Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
• Incorporates evidence-based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
• Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of the plan of care.
• Focuses on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence-based quality care of patient.
• Modifies education methods to ensure patient/family understanding.
• Coordinates and delivers individualized patient education and discharge-specific education to family/caregivers.
• Evaluates for comprehension and documents accurately.
• Completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient's care needs.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
• Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
• Associate's Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
• Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma)
• High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate
• Certified Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)

Qualifications

Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Pay

Range $36.50 - $50.23/Hourly

Schedule

Full Time Nights 7pm-7am
