About the role

Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, patients, and their family/designated care partners in a way that respects and collaborates with them.
- Integrates evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patients' preferences and cultural beliefs in delivering optimal healthcare.
- Partners with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs and priorities, and educates them about their health and treatment.
- Minimizes risks by following established nursing practices and protocols, and by assessing and managing potential hazards.
- Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, and support ethical decision-making.
- Maintains high standards of patient care by monitoring care processes and using improvement methods to enhance quality and safety.
- Fosters teamwork and open communication within nursing and interdisciplinary teams, promoting quality patient care.
- Recognizes and respects patients' personal preferences, priorities, and cultural beliefs in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care.
- Cultivates an inclusive environment, demonstrating leadership in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, serving as a preceptor for new staff members.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or completion of a BSN program within 3 years of hire, preferred.
- One year of previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting, preferred.
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Knowledge of patient assessment and care, including medication administration and discharge planning.
- Ability to document health information accurately and efficiently.
Skills
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage patients and their designated care partners in their health and care planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using information technology to support healthcare delivery and decision-making.
- Ability to assess and diagnose patient needs using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of health information management and documentation practices.
