About the role
The position offers a hiring range of $36.50 - $50.23 hourly, with actual pay determined by job-related factors including experience, education, credentials, and business needs. A sign-on bonus of up to $7K is available for experienced nurses.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population.
- Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training, see checklists.
- PARTNERS WITH PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILY TO DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT AND EVALUATE A PLAN OF CARE, TREATMENTS AND PROCEDURES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL OUTCOMES OF THE PATIENT.
- Incorporates evidence-based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
- Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of plan of care.
- FOLLOWS A SENSE OF URGENCY TO FACILITATE PATIENT THROUGHPUT TO ENSURE PATIENT RECEIVES CONSISTENT, COMPETENT AND ETHICAL CARE.
- FOCUSES ON QUALITY OUTCOMES OF PATIENT WHEN ADDRESSES SERVICE NEEDS TO ENSURE EVIDENCE-BASED QUALITY CARE OF PATIENT.
- DEMONSTRATES UNDERSTANDING OF DIVERSE PATIENT CARE POPULATIONS. MODIFIES EDUCATION METHOD TO ENSURE PATIENT/FAMILY UNDERSTANDING.
- ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY TO COORDINATE AND DELIVER INDIVIDUALIZED PATIENT EDUCATION AND DISCHARGE SPECIFIC EDUCATION TO FAMILY/CAREGIVERS. EVALUATES FOR COMPREHENSION AND DOCUMENTS.
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- DELEGATES AND PRIORITIZES TASKS APPROPRIATELY TO FACILITATE QUALITY PATIENT CARE AND SERVICE EXCELLENCE TO MEET THE PATIENT'S CARE NEEDS.
- RECOGNIZES AND RESPONDS TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. EVALUATES RESOURCES AND SUPPORT NEEDED AND USES SYSTEMS TO ENSURE NEEDS ARE MET.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION: MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
- EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required.
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state required. BLS Card required.
