Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

About the role

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team on a Full-Time basis. The registered nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in assigned units. The RN maintains accountability for their own practice and delegates/provides direction to other nursing personnel in the unit in accordance with their level of experience and expertise.

Essential Functions

• Ability to perform Essential Functions of a Registered Nurse, including Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, and evaluation
• Effectively enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices
• Maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrates research findings into clinical practice

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Registered Nursing
• Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse in good standing
• Current BLS certification at hire
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 90 days of hire
• Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar
• One year relevant nursing experience or supervisory recommendation
• Basic Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite: able to open a document, change font, save a document, write a letter

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of Wisconsin
• Current BLS certification on hire
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
• PALS certification within 6 months
• Non-violent crisis intervention training every two years on rolling calendar

Schedule

• Full-Time, .75 FTE (24 - 36 hours per week)
• Scheduled Days: Variable
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every 3rd Weekend: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every 3rd Holiday: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
