About the role
The Registered Nurse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our behavioral health department, including managing a team of nurses, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of nurses, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the behavioral health department
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines
- Oversee patient care, including assessments, treatment plans, and medication management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Provide education and training to staff on best practices and new developments in behavioral health
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided
- Handle any issues or concerns that arise within the behavioral health department
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment for all staff members
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health nursing
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role
- Strong understanding of behavioral health diagnoses, treatments, and medications
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines related to behavioral health
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
