Responsibilities
- Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Receive and deliver information regarding residents' medical, social, functional, and other needs.
- Participate in shift reports and communicate with residents, family, and staff.
- Conduct initial admission nursing assessments and assist with MDS assessments and care plans.
- Maintain clinical and administrative documentation.
- Lead and supervise subordinate staff, providing assistance with resident care tasks.
- Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.
- Utilize AMS concepts and tools for problem-solving and process improvements.
Requirements
- Possess knowledge of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices.
- Understand relevant laws, rules, and regulations governing professional nursing practices.
- Apply professional nursing methods and techniques, observing and assessing patients.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and build interpersonal relationships.
Qualifications
- Open to recent graduates and those with less than 1 year of experience in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care.
Skills
- Knowledge of AMS concepts and tools.
- Ability to assess and develop care plans.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
