Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery - Part Time Days
About the role
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
- Oversees any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
- Performs Limited Laboratory Services to include patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing and instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording and reporting tests results to include critical values, and maintaining competency/certification of the aforementioned tasks and duties.
- May be required to perform Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVU), Heart and Vascular Unit (HVU), Medical/Surgical, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Same Day Surgery, Recovery Room, Intervention Radiology, Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Oncology, and Structural Heart duties.
- Able to perform Phlebotomy, EKG, IV insertion, and ACLS required at time of hire or transfer.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Nurses hired without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and completion within 3 years.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required.
- BLS required.
- Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
Skills
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKG, IV insertion, and ACLS required at time of hire or transfer.
