Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery - Per Diem Nights
Employment Type: Part time, Per Diem tier III (Tier II also considered)
Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift (7pm-7:30am)

About the role
The primary objective of this position is to provide quality care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.
Unit overview: 8 labor beds, 2 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 2 recovery rooms. 1:1-1:2 nurse to patient ratio.
Requirements:
- 144 hours minimum per 6 week schedule
- 4 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
- 1 winter holiday and 1 spring/summer holiday
Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs, readiness to learn, and identify actual or potential barriers to learning, incorporating patient education into daily activities based on age, cultural, and spiritual values
- Document admission assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions, and medication use, monitoring effects and outcomes according to policy
- Utilize the information management system to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition to all appropriate individuals
- Prioritize work assignments based on changing situations
- Communicate transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
- Recognize and integrate patient special needs, individualize care, and demonstrate knowledge in abuse recognition and referral
- Include pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care
- Adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care and promote and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- BSN required from an accredited school of nursing
- PA RN License
- AHA BLS
- Prior L&D experience preferred
