Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric procedures.
- Recover and monitor patients following cesarean deliveries in the PACU.
- Care for obstetric patients presenting through the OB Emergency Department (OBED).
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN License required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required.
- Experience working in a mid-size to large hospital Labor & Delivery unit.
- Strong fetal monitoring, labor management, and maternal/newborn assessment skills.
Schedule
Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
12-hour Nights
Every other weekend required
Holiday rotation required
Pay
- Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2,470
- Weekly Taxable Pay: $1,224
- Weekly Non-Taxable Stipends: $1,246
