About the role
Under the supervision of the appropriate Program Supervisor, this is the professional health services (school nurse) component of the pupil services team. Functions as liaison between the Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, one or more designated schools, the student and his/her family, and the student's health care provider. Provides appropriate health services, supervision of delegated nursing tasks, counseling and resource referral to students, parents and staff at assigned schools during the school year. This position is based at an eligible Title I school as defined in the law and provides full-time nursing coverage for extended learning time and for all school-sponsored events.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional health services as part of the pupil services team
- Act as liaison between health department, schools, students, families, and healthcare providers
- Deliver appropriate health services and supervise delegated nursing tasks
- Offer counseling and resource referral to students, parents, and staff
- Provide full-time nursing coverage for extended learning time and school-sponsored events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Two years of experience as a registered nurse
- Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, as determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.
Pay
$47.73 per hour. Annual budgeted amount: $87,289.53.
Schedule
10-month position with summers off. Hours vary between schools.
