Registered Nurse / Interventional Radiology / 40 Hours / Day Shift / 6:30am - 5:00pm

About the role

This position provides a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care in accordance with Nursing Problem Care Sets (Core Outcomes and Core Intervention Sets) and/or clinical practice guidelines, age-specific requirements and professional and regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate length of stay, use of resources, and achievement of quality outcomes.
• Assesses patient/family needs for information and education across the continuum, plans and implements patient teaching using a variety of techniques and methods, and evaluates effectiveness of educational interventions.
• Help to alleviate patient fears and anxiety through skillful application of professional and interpersonal communication.
• Utilize a variety of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches to ensure patient comfort and relief of pain.
• Involves patient, family, significant others in development of plan of care.
• Collaborate with patient/family, hospital staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans that prepare patients for continued care needs.
• Perform independent, interdependent, and delegated nursing services according to the scope of practice.
• Administer therapeutic regimens according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and physically safe environment for the patient including use and documentation of restraints according to policy.
• Communicate with other professionals/departments and physician staff to ensure appropriate progress of patients through the system.
• Monitor individual patient length of stay (LOS); notifies case manager and nurse manager of potential LOS/discharge issues.
• Identify ethical issues related to patient care (including issues related to advanced directives) and initiates steps for resolution.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Current certification as a Basic Life Support Provider specializing in Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider required.
• Completion of a BSN program preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in interventional radiology setting preferred.
• Experience working with patients who have complex medical conditions.
• Experience with patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Experience with patient safety and risk management.
• Experience with patient care documentation and reporting.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of nursing problem care sets and clinical practice guidelines.
• Ability to assess and implement interventions to prevent/minimize patient skin breakdown.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and non-pharmacological approaches to patient comfort and pain management.
• Ability to perform basic nursing procedures and medical interventions.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Benefits

Includes a 5% market pay differential, increased night shift premium of 10%, weekend differential, sign-on bonus of $10,000, and comprehensive benefits package.

Pay

$70,000 - $80,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time, Day Shift, 6:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, On-call Rotation Nights & Weekends - 30 Minute Response Time.
