Full-time position with variable 12-hour shifts (7:00am to 7:00pm or 7pm-7:00am) at Southern Regional Medical Center – Riverdale, GA.
About the role
The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) provides intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions, utilizing advanced critical-care skills, rapid decision-making, and compassionate patient support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions.
- Use advanced equipment—cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood-pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices—to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters.
- Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions.
- Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided.
- Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection-control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute-care hospital; critical care preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
