Department: Intensive Care Unit

Schedule

  • Full-time, 72 hours per pay period (bi-weekly)
  • Daily work times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • On call: Yes
  • Weekends: Yes

Responsibilities

  • Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions.
  • Assesses, monitors, detects, plans, and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promotes optimal level of health.
  • Integrates care within scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessment, consistent with patient/significant other’s changing needs and goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the “Caring-Quality Model.”
  • Seeks life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
  • Demonstrates leadership through sharing knowledge, being a clinical resource, and serving as a professional role model.
  • Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and assists others to contribute to the overall performance of the team.
  • Performs other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.

Requirements

  • Required license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
  • Competent within 6 months of hire with all age groups within the defined patient population.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity when interacting with diverse ethnic groups.
  • BLS certified.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
